The broken bow

Lili Holland-Fricke started playing her part from score in Danse Boheme. She was the principal cellist in the Junior RNCM Symphony Orchestra, who were currently performing extracts from Carmen Suite No.2 since it was Open Day.

Without warning, Juan Ortuno (the conductor) signalled the accelerando; all the orchestra started to speed up. They were playing so fast when all of Lili’s bow hair snapped!

Juan stopped. The orchestra froze. The audience gasped. Chloë Ellen Jones burst out laughing…….until Felix Blake slapped her face so hard that she ended up with a bright scarlet mark on her perfect-shaped face for 2 weeks, 2 days, 17 hours, 47 minutes, 14 seconds and 71 milliseconds.
